The governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Saturday said he would quit the Government House on Monday, November 19, ahead of the November 27 expiration of his tenure.

It can be recalled that Aregbesola came into power on November 27, 2010, through an Appeal Court ruling in Ibadan, which terminated the administration of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The Governor, during an interactive programme tagged, “Ogbeni Till Day Break” explained that he would still remain in Osogbo, the Osun State capital even after leaving office.

“People want to know my next movement after November 27, it may surprise you to know that I will leave the government house on Monday, November 19, which is exactly a week to the expiration of my tenure.

“Even after leaving the government house, I will still remain in Osogbo, but I will not tell you my specific location “.

Speaking on what he considered as bane of development and consistent growth in Nigeria, Aregbesola argued that laziness rather than corruption constitutes slow pace of socioeconomic advancement in the country.

He emphasised the need for concerted efforts of citizenry towards turning the fortunes of the nation around for the benefit of all.

“Majority of our people are lazy, they want to ride the best car, live in mansions, and marry beautiful women without hard work, it is surprising that some people find it difficult to work but desire good things of life.

” So, laziness rather than corruption remains the bane of our development as a nation”, Aregbesola said.
