THE founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Aare Afe Babalola, said on Wednesday that the late former Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, was highly dependable and utterly reliable while alive.
Babalola, who is a former UNILAG Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, said, “Apart from being academically sound, Prof. Ibidapo-Obe was a professional to the core.
“I have seen him at work and I have also seen him at play. I found him to be ever so cool, collected, respectful, cheerful, kind, selfless, committed and incorruptible.”
The ABUAD founder made the disclosure in a ‘Tribute to Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe’ made available in Ado Ekiti.
He said, “I was fortunate to have him as the VC during my tenure as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council. With the cooperation of the university management under his leadership and our ever-supportive Council, we recorded a lot of milestone achievements during my seven-year tenure.” (Punch)
