The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Usman Baba, has ordered the immediate distribution of uniforms, kits and accouterments recently procured to police officers.
The acting Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed this in a statement yesterday, saying the development was part of the reform agenda of the police chief. Adejobi said:
“The resuscitation of the quarterly issuance of uniforms and other accouterments to members of the Inspectorate, non-commissioned officers (NCOs) and constable cadres in the force is in furtherance of the ongoing efforts by the IGP to engender reforms and evolve a new people-friendly police.
“The issuance of the new uniforms and accouterments, which is a continuous exercise, is free of charge to all Inspectors and the rank and file as provisions have been made for the continuous procurement in the police budget.”
