Sefiu Adegbenga kaka, a former Senator and Deputy Governor during the governorship tenure of Segun Osoba, has declared his intention to contest the 2019 Ogun State governorship on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

Kaka made the announcement on Monday at council secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abeokuta, capital of the state, declaring: “I am your man; I have the experience, the integrity and commitment.”

He added: “As Ogun State stands today, there is ample room for improvement in agriculture, education, healthcare, employment and empowerment of our youth and female folks, rural development, sports and tourism.”

Kaka, 66, was Deputy Governor of the state from May 1999 to May 2003.

In 2011, he was elected on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) ticket to represent Ogun East at the Senate, succeeding Ramoni Olalekan Mustapha.

If he wins the 2019 election, he would have been 67 by swearing-in date.
