Chairman of the Imo North Senatorial Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Lawrence Chuku, has said that one of the two candidates produced by the last Thursday’s controversial primary election did not qualify to contest the primary.
Although in a three page document dated 27th of August 2020, seen by our Correspondent and titled “Imo North Senatorial By-election screening committee report” duly signed by the chairman and six other members of the screening committee cleared all the eleven aspirants for the primary.
Dr. Chuku said only five aspirants were cleared and that Ibezim Chukwuma Frank was not clear by his committee, adding that the party jettisoned the report of his committee and allowed both the aspirants cleared and those not cleared to participate in the said primary election.
The APC Imo North parallel primary elections produced Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and Ibezim Chukwuma Frank as candidates.
