Insecurity Persists as Terrorists Abduct Family, Kill Vigilante in Katsina Attack
Terrorists have kidnapped a man, his wife, and their daughter during a midnight attack on a residential area in Katsina State, which also left a vigilante member dead, police said on Tuesday.
According to Sadiq Abubakar, spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. in Filin Canada Quarters, Katsina city.
The attackers stormed the home of 33-year-old Anas Ahmadu, abducting him along with his wife and daughter, Jidda. A 25-year-old vigilante, Abdullahi Muhammad, was shot dead during the assault.

Abubakar said police officers responded promptly, but the assailants had already fled the scene. The state commissioner of police, Bello Shehu, later visited the area and directed the deployment of additional personnel to rescue the victims and pursue the kidnappers.
The police command urged residents to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and assured that all information would be treated confidentially.
