Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Bieber has revealed that half of his face is paralysed due to Ramsey Hunt syndrome.
He disclosed his health condition in a video posted on his verified Instagram page.
When a shingles outbreak hits the facial nerve near one of the human ears, Ramsey Hunt syndrome (herpes zoster oticus) develops. The illness can include facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear, in addition to the painful shingles outbreak.
In the video, he said; “Hey everyone, I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on. As you can see from my place, I have this syndrome and it is this virus that attacks the facial nerves. as you can see, this eye is not blinking, I can’t smile on this side of my face, and this nostril is not moving.
“For those who are frustrated by my cancellation of next shows, I’m just physically not able to do. It is pretty serious. I wish this wasn’t the case. Obviously, my body is trying to tell me to slow down and get back to 100 per cent…”
“I love you guys. Thanks for being patient with me and make sure to pray for me’ he added.
