Kano Pillars appoints Ahmed Musa GM to boost NPFL performance

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed international football star Ahmed Musa, as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, aiming to elevate the team’s performance in the upcoming Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The governor also approved a reconstituted Management Board, retaining most members from the previous board, which led the team to a 9th-place finish in the NPFL.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointments are part of “ongoing efforts to further strengthen the team and enhance its performance.”

The decision followed “several consultative meetings with key stakeholders,” resulting in strategic adjustments to the board to boost the club’s competitiveness.

The new Management Board includes Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara) as Chairman, alongside members Salisu Mohammed Kosawa, Yusuf Danladi Andy Cole, Idris Malikawa Garu, Nasiru Bello, Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West), Abdulkarim Audi Chara, Muhammad Danjuma Gwarzo, Mustapha Usman Darma, Umar Dankura, Ahmad Musbahu, Gambo Salisu Shuaibu Kura, Rabiu Abdullahi, Aminu Ma’alesh, Safiyanu Abdu, Abubakar Isah Dandago Yamalash (Media Director I), and Ismail Abba Tangalash (Media Director II).

The statement highlighted Musa’s appointment as a “strategic move” to leverage his “wealth of experience and leadership to reposition the club as a formidable contender in the league.”

The government expressed confidence that the reconstituted board, under Musa’s leadership, will “consolidate on the team’s achievements and deliver improved results in the forthcoming season.”
