Katsina Gov Involved In Road Accident
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was involved in a road accident, on Sunday evening.
The development which created stir on social media, occurred along the Daura-Katsina Road.
Mohammed Jammal, a Social Media user known as White Nigerian, had tweeted about the incident, on Sunday evening.
“Reports indicate that Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State was involved in a car accident while traveling from Daura to Katsina. He sustained a fracture and is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Daura. Thankfully, he has been stabilised.”
Many had taken to the comment section to wish the governor well.
However, there was confusion as to if the report is true or not, with speculations gaining grounds.
But Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, issued a statement to state the true position of things.
According to Mohammed, the accident was minor and the governor’s condition was stable.
“Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda was involved in a minor road accident this evening along the Daura – Katsina Road, while carrying out his official duties in service to the people of Katsina State.”
“We are pleased to confirm that the Governor is in good health and stable condition, with no serious injuries sustained.
“As a precautionary measure, the Governor is currently receiving routine medical evaluation at a medical facility, where he is being attended to by qualified medical professionals.
“Governor Radda remains in high spirits and expresses his gratitude to Almighty Allah for His protection, as well as Katsina citizens and well-wishers for their prayers and concern.”
It is unclear if the governor was returning from the residence of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari when the incident happened.
Since the death of the late President exactly a week ago, Radda has made several visits to Daura.
Radda trended during the burial of Buhari as he could not fight back tears when the military was honouring Buhari shortly before his remains were lowered.
