The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to retaliate against any further attack on its members, leaders, or gubernatorial candidate in the state by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking to Daily Independent, Chief Taiwo Kuye, the Deputy Director of Volunteer Groups, Atiku/Okowa presidential campaign council, Lagos State and former zonal organising secretary of PDP, South-West, noted that nobody has the monopoly of violence and since the party has notified the relevant security authority about the attacks on the campaign train of the Lagos State gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly called Jandor, the party is ready to match the APC, force for force in the event of further attacks.

Responding to the question as to the possibility of the ruling party likely conniving with the police, Kuye said, “Whatever it is, whether in connivance with the police, we don’t care. Any more attacks on us; we would be forced to retaliate. When any attack happens again, on our party leaders, rallies, campaigns, or on our gubernatorial candidate, we would be forced to retaliate immediately. We wouldn’t look back. Nobody has a monopoly on violence. We are all on the ground in Lagos State, which is why as a law-abiding political party; we have reported the issue to the police.

“If they are careless, we would be forced to retaliate and defend ourselves. Whether the security agency connives with the APC or not, we are not bothered, but after this time, if there are further attacks, we would be forced to take revenge.

While speaking about the chances of the party in the forthcoming election, Kuye said, “Since 1999, apart from Funsho Williams we have not had any gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State like Jandor.
