A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Jimoh Ajao has died.

Ajao, who was two-term Special Adviser on Housing under the administration of Mr Babatunde Fashola as governor, died at age 66.

He was a foremost leader of the Awori people and Asiwaju Oba of Igando.

Sources in the Lagos APC disclosed that Ajao died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, after brief illness.

Ajao was once the Executive Secretary and first elected Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area.

He was elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly under the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) but the death of Late General Sani Abacha truncated that transition programme and he was not able to take his seat officially in the state House of Assembly.

Ajao was a delegate at the last Special Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s Presidential Candidate.
