Lagos APC Loses Ex-Chief Scribe
A former State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Primate Charles Odugbesi is dead.
Odugbesi died in early hours of Friday.
Confirming his death, the Council Chairman of Igbogbo Bayeku Local Council Development Area, Mr Sesan Daini, said that he was not sick before his death but suddenly had heart attack, adding that he died around 2:30am midnight.
Meanwhile, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, the Chairman, APC Ikorodu North LGA, in a statement issued on Friday, described Odugbesi’s death as a great loss.
“What a great loss. With total submission to the will of Almighty God, APC Ikorodu North LCDA announce the shocking and painful death of our leader and a former State Secretary of our Party, Primate Charles Odugbesi JP, which occurred early this morning, 7th July 2023. May his soul rest in peace.
“The burial arrangements will be announced later”, said Tijani.
Odugbesi served as the General Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for eight years.
He was the Director General of late Sen. Adebayo Osinowo Campaign and the Lagos East Senatorial leader of The Mandate Group.
The former Lagos APC State Secretary was known for writing open letter on issues to express his views.
His last letter was released few days ago to deny the allegation that The Mandate Group was opposed to the nomination of a particular Commissioner nominee from Ikorodu.
He aspired for the Ikorodu Federal House of Representatives seat under the APC in 2015.
