Lagos APC Membership Register Fake – Chieftain

A former Vice-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Mr. Fouad Oki, yesterday said the state APC cannot boast of a reliable membership register.

According to him, the current register has been bastardized and hailed the move by the party’s national caretaker committee to embark on fresh membership registration.

Speaking with newsmen during a sensitization programme on the party’s registration, Oki stressed that despite APC being a progressive party, the membership registration being bandied in the state is fake.

Daily Trust reports that it was the same membership register used in conducting direct primaries in the 2019 elections where the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode lost to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

But Oki stated, yesterday, that it would be ridiculous for anyone to claim there are five million registered members in the state.

He promised to ensure the state’s APC has a robust membership register that can stand the test of time which is why he has been embarking on the local government tour to sell the party to people at the grassroots.
