Man. City back at the top after thrashing Brighton
Manchester City have returned to the top of the English Premier League after thrashing Brighton 3-0 on Wednesday.
Liverpool had moved temporarily to the top on Tuesday after defeating Manchester United 4-0 at Anfield.
After a goalless first half, City struck the opening goal on 53 minutes.
Riyad Mahrez picked up the ball inside the box, found himself in a good position and fired in a shot which was deflected past Robert Sanchez.
The homers got the second goal on 65 minutes. Mahrez passed the ball to Phil Foden and he fired in a shot from the edge of the box which was deflected.
Eight minutes to duration, City got the third goal to cement the top spot.
Kevin De Bruyne played a short, squared pass into the path of Bernardo Silva, who bent a shot straight into the bottom left corner to make it 3:0.
