Man, teenage son rape 9-year-old girl
A 65-year-old man, Lawal Angala, and his son, Isah, 19 were on Monday tried before a Katsina senior magistrates’ court for allegedly defiling their neighbour’s nine-year-old daughter.
The Police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, had told the court that the accused persons, who resided at Safana town in Kastina State, committed the offence on May 2.
According to him, the case was reported at Safana police division by the victim’s mother, Shamsiya Abdullahi.
The Prosecutor said “the accused persons lured the victim into Angala’s room where they allegedly took turns in having carnal knowledge of her.”
According to the prosecutor, the accused are facing rape charge, an offence contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code.
Hajiya Dikko, the presiding magistrate did not take the pleas of the accused persons. He reminded them that their offence could only be tried by the high court.
She further instructed that they be remanded in the prison custody till June 14, 2018 when their case would come up for mention.
