Man United youngster, Tosin Kehinde, chooses Nigeria over England
Tosin Kehinde, Manchester United youngster, has chosen to play for Nigeria.
Kehinde, who is eligible to play for England, met with Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles technical adviser, on Sunday.
He met Rohr at the Crowne Plaza hotel in London.
The 19-year-old midfielder said he’s proud to play for Nigeria at any level, Manchester Evening News reports.
“It feels good to have that kind of support back home,” Kehinde was quoted as saying.
“I’ve come close on occasion. All I need to do is continue to work hard.
“Of course I’d be elated to play at the World Cup.
“It’s every footballers dream. Playing at any level for Nigeria would bring me pride.
“But I believe in myself enough to know I can bring something great to the Super Eagles first team.”
Kehinde trained with United’s first team at the start of the season and has featured 15 times for the Under-23s in the Premier League 2.
