Mason Greenwood bids Getafe goodbye, to rejoin Man United
Mason Greenwood has appeared to bid farewell to Getafe supporters following the conclusion of his season-long loan with the Spanish club.
The forward, who joined Getafe last summer, is set to return to Manchester United when his loan deal expires on July 1.
In an emotional Instagram post, Greenwood expressed his gratitude towards Getafe and their fans, sharing several photos from his time with the club.
He wrote: “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club. A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you. I wish you all the best.”
Greenwood’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain. With his contract at Old Trafford set to expire in 2025, United has the option to extend it by another year.
However, there are strong indications that the club is considering a permanent sale this summer.
Reports suggest that while Greenwood could rejoin the Manchester United squad before any potential transfer, the club is weighing their options.
The 22-year-old has been linked with several top European clubs, including Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, and Borussia Dortmund, all of which recognize his potential to make a significant impact.
