Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has condemned the bullying of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a former Miss South Africa finalist.

Adetshina was faced intense scrutiny over her nationality and was questioned by netizens on whether she was qualified to enter the competition due to her father and mother being of Nigerian and Mozambican descent.

Afterward, she withdrew from the competition following allegations from the South African Department of Home Affairs that her mother may have committed fraud and identity theft.

Tyla expressed her disappointment in a post on X.com over the harsh treatment Adetshina received, insisting that the model was bullied out of the competition.

Shev wrote, “I will always stand with South Africa, I just feel regardless of the opinions… She was bullied and that’s what I don’t stand for.”

However, Miss Universe Nigeria has invited Adetshina to join the contest, but yet to react to the invite.
