Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has aired his believe that most sexually molested university girls are dullards.
In recent times, stories have been flying around concerning the situation of things in Nigerian universities especially cases of sexual harassment of female students by male lecturers. The society has been condemning very seriously male lecturers who harass female students or even demand sex to enable these to pass their courses.
During a one-kilometre walk staged in Calabar in celebration of this year’s “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV)” in the state, Ben Ayade who was represented by Ms Tina Agbor, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), made his feeling known about the menace.
“As a girl in the university, study hard and no one will take advantage of you because they know that you are worth your onions. Some of the university girls that say they were sexually molested are dullards who visit lecturers privately to beg for marks,” she said.
