Mourinho names two Tottenham players that “worked like animals” in 2-0 win over Arsenal

Jose Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, has singled out Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, as players that worked “like animals” as they beat Arsenal 2-0 on Sunday.

Kane and Son both scored and assisted each other as Spurs won the first North London Derby of this season.

Mourinho’s men absorbed so much pressure from the Gunners and pounced on the counter-attack to score twice in the first half.

The manager was full of praise for the two forwards, who have scored 18 league goals between them this season.

“They are working like animals, with all due respect to animals, I love animals,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.

“They worked amazingly hard when the team didn’t have the ball. Harry Kane was clearing balls in the box. Son, in the first 60 minutes as a winger working a lot on [Hector] Bellerin, then as a second striker working a lot on the centre-backs.

“They have a very good sense of the balance that they need and they also do incredible tactical work for the team when the team doesn’t have the ball.”

Tottenham remain top of the Premier League with 24 points, ahead of Liverpool on goals difference.
