On Monday, some Democrats in the house of representatives commenced the process of impeaching Trump.

They accused him of inciting insurrection at the US Capitol and also alleged that he actively encouraged violence and made several false claims about the recent presidential election.

But Republicans objected to the article.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday while on his way to Alamo, Texas, Trump called attempts to impeach him a “witch hunt”.

He said the move is causing “tremendous anger”, describing it as dangerous to the country.

“So if you read my speech, and many people have done it, and I’ve seen it both in the papers and in the media, on television. It’s been analysed and people thought what I said was totally appropriate,” he said.

“And if you look at what other people have said… politicians at the highest level about the riots during the summer, the horrible riots in Portland and Seattle and various other places; that was a real problem, what they said.

“But they have analysed my speech, my words and my final paragraph and final sentence and everybody thought it was totally appropriate.

“This impeachment is causing tremendous anger and they are doing it, and it’s really a terrible thing that they are doing for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to continue on this path.

“I think it’s causing tremendous danger to our country, and it’s causing tremendous anger, I want no violence.” (The Cable)
