Moves for the dethronement of controversial monarch, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has just begun, e-nigeriang can now report.

A few days ago the media was awash with reports of King Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo beating up another Traditional ruler, Oba, Sikirulahi Olaleke Akinropo also known as Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa at a supposed peace meeting that allegedly turned bloody. READ HERE

After a preliminary deliberation on the matter, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, was on Friday suspended for six months by the Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council.

Furthermore, another committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also constituted by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.

The royal fathers at their emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, arrived at the decision to suspend Oba Akanbi.

Meanwhile www.e-nigeriang.com  investigation revealed that Oluwo’s temporary suspension is only the first of the biggest announcement coming as there is a huge conspiracy among influential traditional rulers in Yoruba land to humiliate him by dethroning him.

Although still unclear, e-nigeriang gathered that Oluwo’s planned dethronement may not be unconnected to several controversial statements credited to him in the past where he allegedly openly made derogatory comments against the likes of the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, The Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III and other influential traditional rulers in Yoruba land,

Although seemingly unbothered, Oluwo he has been telling everyone who cares to listen that his planned dethronement cannot work irrespective of the huge conspiracy against him because he inherited the Kingship from his forefathers.

Gradually it is becoming a war of elephants and as the popular saying goes, “when two elephants fight, the grass around suffers”. (E-Nigeria.
