A political party, the National Action Council (NAC), has adopted President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as its consensus candidate for next Saturday’s election.
The party also disowned one Ezeuko Emeka aka Rev. King, who it said has been parading himself as the presidential candidate of the party.
Addressing a press conference on Monday in Abuja, the NAC National Chairman, Hajia Rabia Yasai Hassan Cengiz, said all NAC members have been directed to vote President Buhari for a second term.
“After due consultations with our party members and critical stakeholders, I am pleased to inform you that NAC has decided to support the presidential candidate of the APC, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“All NAC members are enjoined to vote for the APC at the presidential election on the 16th of February, 2019,” she said.
She also said all indicted officers of the party have been suspended by the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of January 29, 2019, while an investigative committee has been constituted to look into the immediate and remote causes of their alleged misconduct.
