NDLEA declares four associates of drug kingpin, ‘Barryshine’ wanted
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared four associates of Lagos drug kingpin Alhaji Suleiman Aremu Ganiu, known as ‘Barryshine’ and ‘Ejeoto,’ wanted for their role in various drug trafficking activities.
This action comes as ‘Barryshine’ faces criminal charges in a Federal High Court in Lagos.
NDLEA, in a statement, said its decision to declare the suspects wanted was authorized by Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court.
The individuals named include Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai (a.k.a. Alhaji Loyingbo), Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye (a.k.a. Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya), Olumuyiwa Olufemi Ilori (a.k.a. Murphy), and Alate Kafy Bakare Bukki of Kaffy Travels.
In a ruling issued on January 28, 2025, the court granted NDLEA’s request to publicly display the photographs of the suspects and declared them wanted for their involvement in trafficking activities alongside Ganiu.
Suleiman Ganiu Aremu was arrested on August 26, 2024, after being under surveillance by the NDLEA for his alleged involvement in several failed attempts to export cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Qatar via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos between 2022 and 2024.
Many of his associates have already been arrested, prosecuted, and convicted.
The NDLEA urged the public to provide any information regarding the whereabouts of the wanted suspects by contacting their nearest command or calling the toll-free helpline at 080010203040.
Members of the public can also send direct messages to NDLEA’s social media accounts.
