Netflix has reduced subscription prices in over 30 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.

This was announced on Thursday in an attempt to attract more subscribers amid stiff competition and strained consumer spending.

Yemen, Jordan, Libya, Iran, Kenya, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Venezuela, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, among other countries, will now enjoy reduced subscription fees.

However, subscribers in America and the United Kingdom will still pay standard streaming fees.

In a press statement, Netflix said, “We’re always exploring ways to improve our members’ experience. We can confirm that we are updating the pricing of our plans in certain countries.”

Also, the streaming giant has banned subscribers from sharing their login information and passwords.

It introduced password-sharing restrictions in some countries, requiring customers to pay additional fees if they want friends and family to share their subscriptions.
