A Nigerian footballer who plays for Premier Football Club Ofatedo, Damilola has reportedly given up the ghost during a football match in Osun State.

According to reports reaching Naija News at this time, the young footballer on Monday, September 7 had slumped while playing a match for his club before he eventually died.

A source who disclosed the sad development to newsmen revealed that the player was about to pass a free-kick to his teammate during the match when he suddenly slumped.

It was reported that Damilola after he slumped, was rushed to a nearby hospital but was rejected and then he was immediately taken to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology where he was confirmed dead.

Reports from the club’s players and staffs noted that Damilola never showed any signs of illness before the match.

The player’s demise was also confirmed to newsmen by the coordinator of the Osun Grassroots Football Coaches Association, Leke Hamzat.
