• Says Nigerians are patronising pastors who’re using them to make money
The General Overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Chukwuma Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Pastor Odumeje, actually means many things to many people: a clergyman, comic entertainer, singer, musician and many more.
Speaking to Sunday Sun aboard an Abuja-Katsina-bound aircraft, the pastor reflected on his spiritual journey so far, announcing triumphantly that he has been very much instrumental to the union of over 2,000 marriages and destruction of over 1,000 dreaded shrines majorly across the Southeast and South-south geopolitical zones.
The comic pastor also explained why he will never wear wedding ring, why no man will see his corpse, how he has been able to resist ladies tempting him with sex, how Nigerians are patronising pastors using them to make money and why government, which he claimed is yahoo, yahoo will never stop Nigerians youths from engaging in perpetrating the act.
How did you come about those funny names like Idaboski, Liquid Metal, you gave yourself?
It is like father like son. They call our father, the Lord Jesus Christ, such names like El-Shaddai, Jehovah Ebenezer, Omnipotent, Omniscience, and Omnipresence and other names like the Rock of Ages, and the sword of Moses. That is why the son of man is also the Lion Himself. So, that is why I said like father, like son and that is why they call me the same names they call my father. My father is a liquid metal and I answer to the name too. The names are supernatural and powerful statements of facts. When you are talking about liquid metal, it is a force. When you explain liquid and metal, you understand that this is too big. I am an equation that cannot be solved or even explained.
Pastor, in retrospect, will you say that you have got to your destination?
Not at all, I have not even started or done anything yet let alone getting to my destination. I have been on the altar of God since 1996 at the age of 18 years. I have never faked a miracle. I have said it all over the world that no pastor, no church on earth has ever performed the kind miracle I have done except one man that I respect so much. That person is my mentor. After he finished his spiritual mission and died, I am now the one on ground to get the remaining job done. I am talking about the General and the icon himself, Emmanuel TB Joshua. That is my spiritual mentor and my spiritual father. In every generation, God can never leave the world without a prophet. That is why you hear my name and about me everywhere, that is why you know me. So, it is the Lord Jesus that introduced me. It is the Lord Jesus who brought me. There is no other power that I preach about other than Jesus and only him. That is why I tell native doctors across the whole world that nobody has any juju and anyone who doubts should meet the lion himself for a challenge. I enter shrines uninvited. I call all those animal native doctors and Ezenwanyi superstitious animals. I have video evidences on what I preach about Christ. I don’t talk with only faith, I also talk with power and that is why I have not even done anything yet because the battle is just beginning.
How many people have God spiritually rescued from bondage through you?
They are many that I have lost count. I have video of the miracles and I can tell you that it is more than one million. I have practical miracles that you can see and believe. You will see those with leg poison that we cleared in few days, including Arthur Eze’s brother. He was having a kidney problem with a swollen stomach, but it cleared in just few weeks. I have done many miracles not through luck. We have solved so many with kidney and leg poison problems. I have gone into many shrines across many states and cities to destroy them. I have even slapped hell out of many herbalists, native doctors and Ezenwanyis using the power from the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says that in the name of Jesus Christ, every knee shall bow. I also pity those that go to church where there is no practical proof. What are you doing with pastors using you to make money? The Bible says in Corinthians that my altar is a place of demonstration of power, not a place of talk. It is in the Bible. That is why in Matthew 11:28 God said come to me all you that are in pain and I will give you rest. He said again that there will be fullness of joy in my presence and that is why I am a happy man. If you watch my videos of the miracles I have performed, you will know that I am not the real miracle worker, there is a man in me as reflected in 1 John 4, who is in me is greater than what is in the world, and that is Jesus Christ.
What is the biggest spiritual battle you have fought, maybe in terms of healings or in terms of challenges?
I have never seen a big battle because the battle is not of me. My father, Jesus Christ assured me that He is Jehovah, the man of war. What is going to be bigger than the one who says that He is war himself? He told us that He is a mighty man in battle, Jehovah, man of war. So what is going to be bigger than the man looking for war? My father is the battle axe. You don’t go to look for battle from a man that is battle ready and who is battle himself. Devils and demons don’t come after me, I go after them. All the native doctors and herbalists are afraid of me because any of them who come after me knows that I will damage them spiritually. There is no battle I go into that will make me embark on an extra spiritual preparation because I am prepared for war 24 hours by the support of the Almighty Jesus. I am a man of war. I am spiritually ready 24 hours. We don’t sleep on the bed; we lie down on the floor to get our body ready. We have been maintaining our spiritual life staying in the mountains without eating food, just to be ready for battles. We are prepared for battle, we enjoy war. We are not in the church for the conventional wave your hands and say halleluiah; I am a practical pastor with evidences, facts and practical realities.
How easy has it been for you to withstand ladies interested in a handsome man like you?
I have a beautiful wife and lovely children. I love my family so much and I don’t joke with them. More importantly, we focus on our spiritual callings. We don’t give chance to frivolities, but only focus on the spiritual war ahead. We never allow the temptations from ladies to distract us. That is why the Bible says the world is not a platform for jokers.
Will you say that destroying shrines is one of the biggest spiritual battles you have fought and how challenging are those battles?
There is nothing challenging about fighting herbalists and destroying shrines. I don’t know why people are afraid of those native doctors, Ezenwanyis and their shrines. There is no power in them and their shrines. I have destroyed well over thousands of shrines. I went to Nando uninvited to destroy their biggest shrine. I have gone to Abatete, Anaku, Abakaliki, Ede Obala, Nsukka in Enugu State, and in Delta State where I destroyed their dreaded, but powerless shrines. None of them posed any challenge to me because they were like just entering my house to take drinking water. I first destroyed the most terrifying shrine in my village to build my house. I pulled the shrine down and erected my house. I derive joy destroying those powerless idols and their native doctors and Ezinwanyis. They are fraudsters hiding on the power of the shrine to dupe our people.
Why has it become difficult for you to win the battle against youths engaging in Yahoo Yahoo practice currently destroying them?
We can only continue to pray for them because they are going many places and there is nothing any man of God can do about it. It is only government that can provide jobs for the youths. But, government is the biggest Yahoo and how can the youths be seeing government involved in Yahoo Yahoo believe it? We have yahoo, yahoo government. Is it not in this country that government officials told us that snake and monkeys swallowed money? How can the youths be watching the government using them for yahoo in this country resist joining the trade? The government we have is a yahoo yahoo government and the youths are looking at the government telling them those lies. It is painful watching those in custody of our money telling the youths yahoo excuses of monkey, elephant, and snake swallowing their money. Government is the biggest perpetrator of scams.
Is it possible to say that you will join politics in your life?
I am a father to all and I am a father to all nations because my power is to save the good ones and the bad ones. That is why I stand in the middle to save the people that God brought to me. Joining politics is not for me now.
How true is the speculation that you have helped over 2,000 ladies to get married, is the estimation correct?
They are more than that. I have helped a lot of young ladies get married. I have a lot of videos to show for it. My answer is yes, I did that to many of them. There are many of them that I introduced to their husbands.
Why is it so difficult for you to have a larger congregation with miracles you have performed?
You know that my side of Anambra State is facing a serious problem of insecurity and I don’t want to leave my place because if I do, everybody will know that somebody has left the town. The visitors will even be more afraid to come. I know who I am and through a prophet a nation is saved. I love my people and I am proud of who I am, and where I come from. So, once I leave the place, it will be news all over the world, and many will be afraid, believing that there will not be any solution again.
Have you met your target after excelling as a musician, pastor and an entertainer?
No, I have not met my target. My target is to save the world. Why I went into music is because many people are singing that their song came from the water, deceiving people that the devil gave them the gift. But, it is a lie. Now that I did a combined album with Flavour and Jesus has taken over, where is that water spirit? They use the claims to collect money from the local musicians, believing that they have to settle with Mammy-Water before their album can gain prominence. But we have shown that the power and gift of song is from above through Jesus Christ.
Will your children inherit your spiritual power?
I am the one who will anoint them by transferring the power to them. I will pick one of our children depending on what the Spirit directs, but I know that one of my children will inherit the power from me.
Why is your wife not active in your ministry?
My wife is very much around, but she is a very calm, cool, and nice woman. She takes care of her home responsibilities very well. She is doing so much but very silent about it. Don’t forget that our kids are still very tender and we cannot allow them to be trained by maids. My wife doesn’t want it that way because she understands childhood training. She is very much in the ministry working silently and taking care of the family very well.
What is the biggest thing you want to achieve before you quit the pulpit?
I am not retiring because I don’t have much time to spend here on earth. I am on a mission on earth and any moment from now, my mission will come to an end. I came to the world to show people how powerful Jesus is. I don’t have much time to spend on earth, and nobody can see my corpse when I die. How can anybody come where my corpse is lying down and begin to touch me and ask it. Indabosky, so this is how you have left the world? It is not just possible. Whether I am going to return to heaven when I die will remain a mystery for human beings. It remains a secret between me and my God. But I have to thank my mom for her prayers that converted me from following a bad gang. At age 14, I was already a bad boy. Bakassi Boys killed some of my intimate friends and members of the gang. I was actually deceived those days and I knew what it took my mom to recover me from the bad gang. My radical nature didn’t start today, and the good thing is that the experience of those days has helped me to correct modern-day youths.
Why are you not wearing your wedding ring as a pastor?
I love wearing jewelry, but I stopped after discovering that people will think that I derive my spiritual powers by wearing them. No matter how innocent the wedding ring might be or beautiful it might be, people must conclude and attribute your spiritual power from it. That is why you can never see me wear any jewellery.
