NYSC DIRECTOR GENERAL REITERATES COMMITMENT TO CORPS WELFARE AND SECURITY
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Mohammad Kaku Fadah has assured Corps Members that they would enjoy improved welfare and adequate security throughout their service year.
He said his administration would ensure that the potentials of every Corps Member is fully developed and maintained for self empowerment.
He made this statement during his visit to the 2022 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Corps Members at the NYSC Lagos State Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja.
General Fadah advised the Corps Members to avail themselves of the opportunities of learning a skill through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, adding that it will empower them to become self independent in the absence of paid jobs.
He added that efforts are in top gear to make funds available for every Corps Member through the proposed NYSC Trust Fund which has scaled through the National Assembly.
“When the NYSC Trust Fund becomes operational, every Corps Member will be given money as you are passing-out from service to enable you establish your vocational businesses in line with the skill you might have acquired through our SAED programme’, General Fadah said.
The Director General urged the Corps Members to be patriotic and selfless, with strong determination to be to successful in their endeavours.
“NYSC have zero tolerance for cultism and drug abuse. Please avoid cutting corners, shun social vices that may put you into trouble, but serve your fatherland with dignity, passion and write your names in gold as good ambassadors of the NYSC”, the DG advised.
The NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa commended the Director General for the visit.
She said the synergy between the entire camp officials has enhanced the smooth operations of the Orientation Course with the Corps Members in high spirits.
