The impeached and removed Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, is expected to be received by stakeholders from his Ward F of the All Progressives Congress in Agege Local Government Area on Saturday (today) morning as he arrives Lagos State.
The Eagle Online recalls that Obasa was not in the country when he was removed and replaced by 33 members of the House.
He was reported to be in the United Kingdom from where he went to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in the bid to see President Bola Tinubu over his removal as speaker.
However, this move did not yield the desired result.
Also on arrival in Nigeria last week, Obasa went straight to Abuja, where he also made an attempt to see President Bola Tinubu.
However, The Eagle Online could not confirm if he succeeded this time around before press time.
But announcing his arrival in a statement and the expected move to welcome him, the Chairman of Ward F in Agege LGA, Segun Balogun, directed all Ward, Zonal, and Local Government executives and stakeholders to be at the Ikeja GRA home of Obasa, which is the residence of the speaker, by 9am on Saturday (today).
Balogun said in a statement of invitation to that effect: “APC PROGRESS!!!
“All LG ward Executives, Zonal Executives, all members and all stakeholders are to meet at the GRA Ikeja residence of Hon. Mudasiru Obasa to give him a heroic welcome.
“Date: Tomorrow Saturday 25-01-25.
“Time: 9.00am prompt.
“Please Mobilise in mass and let’s welcome our great leader.
“Please put on any cloth and cap that carries OBASA/TINUBU/APC/MANDATE.
“Please acknowledge this message.
“Thanks.”
