Obasa: Tinubu Saw He Was Recalcitrant, That Broke The Camel’s Back’ – Fouad Oki

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Fouad Oki has justified the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa as the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Obasa was impeached on Monday over allegations of fraud, a move Oki said was long overdue.

The APC chieftain was featured on Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today where he said President Bola Tinubu tried to resolve the crisis in the Lagos State Assembly but Obasa was recalcitrant.

That, he said, finally put the final nail in the coffin for the Lagos lawmaker who was eventually impeached and replaced by  Mojisola Meranda.

“Before the president came home, this issue had been lingering. In the wisdom of members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the president’s attention was called,” Oki said on the show.

“The president, as father and leader, called a meeting wherein he tried to make a sense out of the observations raised by elders of the party. Unfortunately, the president saw by himself a recalcitrant [Obasa]. I think that is what broke the camel’s back.”
