Olu of Warri coronation: 1,000 police officers deployed in Delta
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali, has deployed 1000 officers to ensure tight security before, during and after the coronation ceremony of the Olu of Warri (Omoba Tsola Emiko) on Saturday, August 21.
In a release on Wednesday by DSP Bright Edafe, spokesperson of the police command, two bomb squad has been deployed to sweep the venue and ensure it is completely rendered safe, 48 hours before the coronation.
Mobile police personnel and other conventional police officers, including traffic personnel have also deployed to the venue, the police spokesperson noted.
The police commissioner warned mischief makers to steer clear of the coronation venue, noting that the command would decisively deal with elements that cause any form of mischief during the ceremony.
He stated that all that needs to be done to ensure the event is itch-free and devoid of any form of violence has been put in place.
CP Muhammed ordered Area commanders and Divisional Police Officers, to ensure thorough supervision of personnel deployed for the actualization of peace and tranquility during and after the coronation ceremony.
He wished the people of Warri and Deltans a peaceful and hitch-free coronation ceremony.
