THE Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal (Abisogun II), has suspended the payment of ground rents, land charges and development levies on Oniru Royal Family properties and assets until further notice.

In a goodwill message to his subjects, the 15th Oniru thanked them for their love and support since his ascension to the throne.

“I have directed that payment of ground rents, land charges or development levies should be suspended with immediate effect, until further notice.

“You will be duly notified of a new procedure for payment in due course. In the light of the cloud of economic uncertainties hanging over the world today, I am also considering the approval of some concessions.

“I thank you all for your patience and understanding during this transition process.

“I also use this medium to enjoin you to co-exist with one another, obeying and upholding the laws of the land, even as we work together towards making the Iru land a more desirable place to live in,” the monarch said
