Businessman Femi Otedola has redeemed his $25,000 per goal pledge made to the Super Eagles at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The billionaire had before the Eagles semi-final match against Algeria promised to pay $25,000 per goal scored against the North Africans.

Nigeria’s only goal was scored in the 76th minute by Odion Ighalo as the Eagles lost to the North Africans via a late RiyadMahrez’s free kick in added time of the encounter.

Eagles’ defender Kenneth Omeruo led a delegation that consisted of team administrator Enebi Achor and equipment manager Chidi Ngoka to receive the pledge made on behalf of the team.

The NFF through its official Twitter handle made the information known on Tuesday with the caption, “Business mogul Femi Otedola has fulfilled his pledge of $25,000 to the @NGSuperEagles for their one goal against Algeria in AFCON 2019 semi-final.”

Africa’s richest man AlikoDangote also promised the team the sum of $50, 000 per goal scored.
