Owo attack: Tinubu hits Ondo, donates N75m
Bola Tinubu has donated N75 million to St Francis Catholic Church and the victims of the terrorists’ attack on the church on Sunday.
The National leader of the APC made the donation on Monday at the Palace of Olowo of Owo, Oba Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who was with Tinubu at the palace, announced the donation.
Akeredolu said Tinubu donated N50 million for the treatment of victims of the attack and N25 million to the church.
He thanked Tinubu for pausing his presidential campaign activities less than 24 hours before the APC convention.
The governor promised to bring the terrorists down.
Speaking at the palace Tinubu noted that South West had never witnessed an attack of such magnitude.
He described the attack as horrendous.
The former governor called on Federal and state governments to work together to strengthen the security around the country.
He said the attackers of the church want to break the collective spirit of Nigerians but they will not succeed.
Tinubu said: “I urge the police and security agencies to do all that is within their powers to get to the bottom of this attack, apprehend the wicked perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“There is no place for such hatred and wanton taking of innocent lives in our nation.
“No one can discern the darkness in the mind of those that will kill people who are merely engaged in the harmless practice of their faith.
“This violent attack has shocked the conscience of the nation and shattered the peace of this ancient town.”
