PDP Elders Unite To Take Over Lagos From APC
Elders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State have reconciled to take over the governorship of the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State.
A chieftain of the party and Special Adviser to Chief Bode George, Prince Uthman Shodipe-Dosunmu disclosed this while delivering a lecture titled, “Leadership and the Enemies Within.”
At the gathering attended by several chieftains of the party including Chief Olabode George, a former Deputy Chairman of the party; Shodipe-Dosunmu said, “Let me first state firmly that the Lagos state PDP Elders are now reconciled, working in lockstep unity. They are now re-asserting the bond, the friendship and the amity of the good old days. They are now fully united, strengthened in will and wisdom to confront the ruling party. There is no more division. There is no more feud. Peace is now in our midst. Governor Seyi Makinde worked seriously and graciously for the peace we are now enjoying.”
He disclosed that elders like Chief Bode George, Dr Abimbola Ogunkelu, Chief Mrs Aduke Maina, Senator Kofo Bucknor Akerele, Chief Mrs Onikepo Oshodi, Dr Remi Akitoye and many other leaders contributed to this ‘new dawn of peace’.
According to him, with the newfound bond, the party is ready to defeat the opposition party.
He stated that Bode George “is the primus inter pares, first among equals,” adding, “All our leaders have agreed to work in harmony and in renewed brotherhood.”
He lamented what he called the dearth of leadership in the state, saying, “Our concern about leadership today is borne out of the petty virulence of a reckless minority who are unwilling to abide with the peace process and are determined to bring us back to the destructive days. This is no longer acceptable.
Bode George in his remarks said the PDP is burying its differences to drive out the dynasty of APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
