Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Friday where he presented his 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award to the Nigerian leader.
The 27-year-old forward, who plays for Italian Serie A club Atalanta, received the prestigious award in December 2024.
His visit was made known in a post on X by Presidential spokesperson, Dada Olusegun.
Olusegun wrote: “Yesterday, African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his residence in Lagos along side the National Sports Commission DG, Shehu Dikko to present Mr President with his African Footballer of the Year award.”
He became the second Nigerian in two years to win the award, following Victor Osimhen’s triumph in 2023.Lookman earned the recognition after a stellar 2023/2024 campaign for both club and country.
He registered 17 goals and 11 assists across all competitions and delivered a historic performance in the UEFA Europa League final, where he netted a remarkable hat trick against Bayer Leverkusen to secure Atalanta’s first-ever European title.
