Dangote Sinotruk West Africa inaugurated a completely knocked down (CKD) truck assembly plant in Lagos state on Sunday.

The inauguration had in attendance Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos.

In a statement posted on X, Sanwo-Olu said the plant, situated in Ikeja, can produce 10,000 trucks annually and create about 3,000 jobs across Nigeria.

โ€œToday, I joined the President of the Senate, Hon. Godswill Akpabio for the commissioning of the CKD plant at Dangote Sinotruk West Africa Limited in Ikeja,โ€ Sanwo-Olu said,

โ€œWith the capacity to assemble and produce 10,000 trucks annually, Dangote Sinotruk West Africa is set to create about 3,000 jobs across Nigeria.ย

โ€œCongrats to Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his remarkable efforts towards industrialization in Nigeria and Africa.โ€

On June 8, Akpabio, alongside Sanwo-Olu, visited Dangote refinery in Lekki, an area of Lagos state.

During the tour, Sanwo-Olu said it was a privilege that the refinery happened in โ€œour time, our state and our countryโ€.

โ€œPeople talk about dreams, but only a few can make it happen. Dangote has put Lagos State and the whole of Nigeria on the world map of excellence,โ€ he said.

โ€œI am happy the Senate came to see for themselves; Dangote was not ready to rest after successfully building the largest cement factory chain in Africa, the second largest sugar refinery in the world.โ€

Sanwo-Olu also said with an investment like the refiner, he can assure that Nigeria is on the right path to meet the projected gross domestic product (GDP) of $1 trillion by 2030.
