Less than 24 hours after TheCable reported the damage to the 3rd mainland bridge at the Ilubirin exit, Lagos, the developer has moved to make amends.

Early Thursday morning, workers were seen reinstating ducting on the parapet in preparation for casting.

Formwork was also put in place.

TheCable had reported on Wednesday that a developer was caught damaging the 3rd mainland bridge.

Sources at the federal ministry of works and housing had informed TheCable that the developer’s workers had been arrested and would be prosecuted.

The developer was trying to create illegal entry and exit points to the estate at Ilubirin by destroying parts of the longest bridge in Nigeria.

The workers had broken the parapet of the bridge before they were apprehended over the weekend by officials of the ministry.

Below are pictures of the progress of the repair works which started on Thursday morning.
