Before now, President Buhari had dinner with Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and other members of the business community on Thursday night. The dinner held at the State House in Abuja to break the Ramadan fast. President Buhari thanked Nigerians for their continuous support to his administration.

On Monday evening, President Buhari broke the Ramadan fast with state governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his official residence at Aso Rock, Abuja. The “Iftar” with the governors, unlike the previous ones, held with leadership of the National Assembly, Judiciary and others, was not open for full media coverage.

However, the official photographer to the President and cameraman from Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) were allowed to the venue of the event. Traditional rulers across the country are billed to be hosted by the President for the breaking of fast this week.

This is coming after the Special Adviser, Project Monitoring, to Delta State Governor, Mr Clement Olojoba, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to withdraw his intent to re-contest for the presidency in the 2019 general election, saying: “Nigerians are suffering, so Mr President should withdraw his intent to re-contest for the presidency in 2019.”

Olojoba in an interview with newsmen in Sapale, Delta State, appealed to Nigerians to register and pick up their voter cards with a view to voting out the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government, noting  that, “The security system has failed. Killings are in the upsurge and the economy is in comatose. The President should borrow a leaf from Jordanian leader who resigned recently over a little inflation.”
