Chris Brown dropped a diss track titled “Weakest Link,” where he doesn’t hold back, targeting Quavo and including personal jabs and provocative lyrics.
One of the key points in the track is the rumour that Quavo was romantically involved with Karrueche Tran, at the same time she happened to be dating Chris Brown.
Brown’s lyrics suggest that Quavo doesn’t get a pass for his actions, and he mentions that he had a fling with Saweetie, Quavo’s ex girlfriend, while the two were still in a relationship.
The lyrics goes: “You f*cked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no f*ck, lil’ n*gga (Still a b*tch)
‘Cause I f*cked your ex when you were still with her, b*tch, I’m up, lil’ n*gga (I’m up)
They say revenge is sweet (Revenge is sweet), now think about that sh*t
Don’t let that line go over your head, I might just sing about that sh*t (Crack, crack, crack)
I had her fiendin’ ’bout that d*ck, there’s somethin’ sweet about that sh*t (Yeah, yeah, yeah, uh)
I got some tea up out that b*tch, but I ain’t gon’ speak about that sh*t (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Chris also took some shots at Quavo by referencing Takeoff’s death, saying people wished Quavo passed away instead.
“R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one that got true respect.
Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead.”
Takeoff was best known as the youngest member of the hip hop group Migos, along with his uncle Quavo and close affiliate Offset.
Unfortunately, Takeoff passed away on November 1, 2022, after being fatally shot in Houston, Texas.
Quavo’s response to the situation suggests he is unfazed by the diss track. He posted an image on his Instagram Story, which has since gone viral. The photo shows Young Thug in court, looking fed up, and it resembles a trope popularized by the mockumentary sitcom “The Office.”
Despite the heated exchange, Quavo doesn’t appear overly bothered by the situation. His nonchalant reaction suggests that he’s not taking the bait from his longtime adversary, Chris Brown.
The tension between Chris Brown and Quavo dates back to 2017 when they allegedly got into a fight at a BET Awards afterparty.
Their ongoing feud has now escalated with the release of “Weakest Link,” where Brown doesn’t hold back in addressing Quavo’s alleged actions and personal life. (Guardian)
