Ramadan: Help and Feed the Poor – Tinubu tells Wealthy Nigerians
President Bola Tinubu has called upon affluent individuals to assist the less privileged in society, particularly during the Ramadan fast. Tinubu made this appeal on Sunday in Kano while inaugurating the distribution of 140 truckloads of rice donated by Senator Abdullahi Yari in honor of the president.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Tinubu praised the gesture, stating that it aimed to support individuals in need during this critical time.
Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility in leadership, Tinubu emphasized the necessity of helping the vulnerable in society. He urged unity and collaboration for the advancement of Nigeria.
Commending Yari for his donation, Tinubu expressed gratitude for the 140 trucks of rice labeled with his name and picture, intended for distribution to the less privileged. He noted that the provision of this commodity would significantly alleviate the hardship faced by many during this period.
Tinubu further urged Nigerians to pray for the unity, peace, and progress of the country throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Earlier, Dr. Abubakar Danburam, representing Yari, disclosed that the 140 trucks contained 84,000 bags of 50kg rice, to be distributed to at least 500,000 households in the North.
He explained that this gesture aimed to complement Tinubu’s efforts in supporting the needy and other vulnerable individuals in society.
Yari urged Nigerians to pray for relief from the economic challenges confronting the nation, echoing Tinubu’s call for unity and collective prayer during Ramadan.
