Nigerian superstar, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema has announced plans to cancel all his shows for December 2023.

The singer who recently held his O2 Arena show in London, said he would not be performing due to health concerns.

Rema, however, promised to return to the stage next year.

“It breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December,” he said.

“It has been years of touring, I have ignored my health and I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again, love.”

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo had previously announced plans to host the Edo-born singer to a homecoming concert on December 21.

Obaseki expressed his excitement to bring Rema back to his roots, a concert many fear could be affected.

Rema has been enjoying a massive reception from music lovers since he came into the limelight.

Earlier this month, shuts down his “Ravage Uprising” at sold-out 20,000-capacity 02 Arena show in London, thrilling concertgoers with his stellar collection of songs and stage performance.

Rema joined other award-winning Nigerian artistes like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake who have already sold the arena.

Signed to D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, in 2019, the singer released his eponymous debut extended play (EP) ‘Rema’ in 2019.

Last year, Rema put out a 16-track album ‘Rave & Roses’.

In October, the singer released a five-track EP titled ‘Ravage’.
