“Reno Omokri, a verified charlatan, stop engaging him” – Ex-PDP chieftain tells Momodu
A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Henry Shield, has counselled veteran journalist and PDP chieftain Aare Dele Momodu to stop engaging Reno Omokri, a former presidential media aide, on social media.
Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine, has been having a verbal war with Omokri, an author, for over 24 hours.
Omokri triggered the back and forth by responding to an open letter Momodu wrote to President Bola Tinubu.
The veteran journalist had berated the Nigerian leader for allowing his party to remove Ali Ndume as Senate chief whip after the senator criticised his government.
Ndume, representing Borno South senatorial district, said Tinubu’s government has been hijacked while speaking on Arise TV.
Urging Momodu to cease fire, Hon Shield wrote:
”Dear Egbon Dele Momodu, hurts me to say it, but you’re falling for Reno’s strategy. This is a verified charlatan who is known to defend ANYTHING in power.
”Why are you defending in this war when you should be attacking? Why allow Reno to push you to defend rather than the opposite?”
