Rochas Okorocha’s N100m going down the drain

The former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, may have wasted N100, 000,000 to obtain copies of the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to vie for the Presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress.

Okorocha who is currently in the custody of the EFCC  is among the list of 23 presidential hopefuls that must be cleared by the APC screening committee.

The screening exercise commences today Monday and will end tomorrow, Tuesday.

However, Okorcha who is No. 17 on the 23-man list may miss the screening.

Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja today ordered that the former Governor of Imo State be detained in the custody of the EFCC.

Ekwo gave the order as Okorocha and his ally Anyim Chinenye were arraigned alongside five companies on 17 counts of money laundering filed by the EFCC.

The judge then adjourned till Tuesday for the hearing of the bail applications by Okorocha.

Meanwhile, the APC had announced it will not refund the N100 million paid for the presidential nomination form.

“Forms purchased are not refundable. Period. It’s traditional for political parties across the world that once you have paid for nomination forms, you cannot come back and ask for a refund,” APC spokesperson Felix Morka had clarified.
