The Rivers State Government has sealed off a five storey building belonging to a former local government chairman in the state for alleged violation of approved building plan.

The building which is undergoing construction at New Government Reserved Area, is said to be owned by Samuel Nwanosike, a core loyalist of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.

It was gathered that the owner, Nwanosike, former chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area had applied and submitted building plan for a four storey building, but that the building was extended to five storey without review.

The site was sealed Thursday by officials of the Rivers State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The Commissioner for Urban and Physical Development, Prince Isaac Umejuru, said the owner of the building applied for four storey, but constructed five storey instead, describing it as a violation.

Umejuru said the ministry has sealed off the place to conduct integrity test, then take further action.
