Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Are Bashir Abiola as the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of Lagos State Lotteries Board (LSLB).

Are is a private and public sector executive with over 26 years of proven technical, entrepreneurial, and managerial expertise. Vastly skilled in conceptualising and implementing transformative business solutions, his background includes Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Project Management, Strategy Planning, ECommerce, Systems Integration, and International Trade.

As an entrepreneur, he operated MoneyMart in Maryland, United States between 1994-1996 serving the unbanked and underbanked clienteles with licenses from Maryland State Lottery Commission and Control Agency, Western Union and Global Express Money Order Companies as a payment processor, lottery and global remittance agent.

Bashir holds a B.Sc. in Computer Information Technology from University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Salem University in West Virginia, US.

The Lagos State Lotteries Board (LSLB) was established by the Lagos State Lotteries Law 2004 (as amended) to licence and regulate lottery activities within Lagos State.
