Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, has visited the 12-year-old boy hospitalised over missing “small intestine” at the State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
In a Twitter post on Sunday, Jubril Gawat, senior special assistant on media to the governor, said Sanwo-Olu assured that everything would be done to save the boy.
“Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu today paid a surprise visit to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, to see the 12-year old Master Adebola, whose mum made a video about her son that was posted from a private medical facility to the State’s tertiary facility about an ‘intestine’ issue,” Gawat wrote.
“Mr governor, after listening to the Mother and the medical officers at LASUTH, assured Master Adebola and her mum that everything will be done to get him better.”
In a recent viral video, a woman who identified herself as Deborah Abiodun called on Nigerians and the Lagos governor to intervene in the health issue of her son.
In the video, Abiodun said the boy had earlier undergone surgery after he was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix at a private hospital at Ile Epo in Lagos.
She said her son suffered complications that resulted in intestinal obstruction after the surgery, adding that his intestine started leaking seven days after a second operation at the same facility.
During the visit, the governor urged the boy to be strong, adding that the government would do everything to make him better.
“I want you to be strong. We are going to do everything that we can do to get your strength, to give you back your health and get you back to school,” he added.
“The whole country is looking at you and us, it is our responsibility with God helping us to make sure we get your health back.”
