A Saudi woman, Nourah bint Saeed al-Qahtani, has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for allegedly harming the country with her activities on social media on Wednesday.

According to Fox News, al-Qahtani, who has no known history of activism, was sentenced to 45 years in prison after being accused by a judge of “disrupting the cohesion of society” and “destabilising the social fabric.”

Al-Qahtani’s sentencing comes two weeks after Saudi sentenced 33-year-old Salma al-Shehab to 34 years in prison for using her social media account to disrupt public order.
