Second Term: Buhari Has Done More For S/W Than His Predecessors ― Muslim Group

A South West Islamic group “Muslim Political Awareness Front” on Sunday endorsed and declared President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo as its preferred candidates at the forthcoming elections.

The group said the need for this is because the duo, contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has done more for the South West than what many of his predecessors had done while in office.

This position was made known by its National Coordinator, Mallam Lukman Obenbe while addressing members of the group at the Green Spring Hotel, Old-Ife road, Ibadan.

He noted that President Buhari within four years of his first term as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has done a lot for Nigerians in his short time in office, noting that if given enough time, he will still do more.

According to him, “We want President Buhari to continue in office as Nigeria’s president so he can stabilise the country. He has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he can take us to a higher level by all these projects like Lagos to Ibadan Expressway, Lagos to Abeokuta and Abeokuta to Ibadan rail projects.

“He has the aura and integrity that cannot be compared with any person. He is a God- sent Messiah to us in this country. He is the only leader in Nigeria today that does not possess houses in foreign countries; he has a good name and good intention to take the country to the next level.”

“President Buhari in his short period in office has done a lot in terms of infrastructural developments, in terms of youth employment. President Buhari through N-power program has employed 500,000 youths. Most people hate him because he has stepped on their toes in his fight against corruption,” he said.

He, therefore, urged his followers to “Go back to your respective states and localities to start a mosque- to-mosque campaign, Tell the rest of our members at home to work for President Buhari so that they can achieve the Nigeria of their dreams,” Obembe said.

In his lecture, the Wasiri of Yorubaland, Sheikh Yakubu Abdul Baaki Muhammed, also said that “President Muhammadu Buhari is the only Nigerian leader that is so upright among his peers.” (Nigerian Tribune)
