Security Beefed Up At Hotel Where Ex-CG, Parradang Was Found Dead

Some immigration officers were on Wednesday stationed at the gate of Joy House Hotel in Garki District of Abuja, where police said a former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, was found dead on Tuesday.

Our correspondent, who was at the hotel, located by the Area 3 junction in Abuja, observed that armed stern-looking officers were monitoring movements of people in and out of the hotel.

Our reporter was questioned by a guard at the gate before his car was allowed in.

No officials of the hotel were willing to talk on the incident.

The FCT police command had in a statement on Tuesday by its spokeswoman, Josephine Adeh, a Superintendent, said the retired CG checked into the hotel on Monday, at around 12pm, driving a black Mercedes Benz.

Adeh said he booked a room for N22,000 and soon after, directed the hotel workers to escort a female visitor to the room.

According to her, the woman left the premises but that Parradang remained inside the room.

A police source at the FCT command yesterday said investigations on the incident were still ongoing, assuring that the public would be briefed on any developments.(Daiky trust)
